A step towards making Umrah travel more flexible, convenient and accessible for pilgrims worldwide.
Saudi Arabia has introduced a one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa, a significant enhancement to how the Kingdom manages the pilgrimage experience. The visa allows eligible pilgrims to make multiple visits over a 365-day period, so those who wish to perform Umrah more than once do not have to apply for a new visa each time.
The initiative sits alongside the Kingdom’s wider focus on religious tourism and on delivering a seamless, digitally enabled travel experience under Vision 2030.
The conditions
- One-year validity. The visa remains valid for 365 days from the date of issuance.
- Multiple entries. Pilgrims can enter and exit Saudi Arabia multiple times during the visa’s validity.
- Up to 90 days stay. A cumulative stay of 90 days is permitted across all visits.
- Not valid during Hajj. The visa cannot be used to enter Saudi Arabia during the Hajj season.
- Mandatory service package. An approved Umrah service package must be purchased from an accredited provider on the Nusuk platform for every visit.
- Umrah permit required. Pilgrims must obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk app, with permit dates matching the approved service package.
- Automatic reactivation. The visa is automatically suspended upon departure and reactivated for subsequent visits once all regulatory requirements are met.
Two points worth pausing on
The 90 days are cumulative, not per entry. That is the condition most likely to be misread by anyone planning several trips across the year, and it is best worked out on a calendar before any booking is made.
The second is that holding the visa is not by itself authorisation to travel. Each visit still needs an approved package from an accredited Nusuk provider and a permit whose dates align with that package. What has been removed is the repeat application, not the repeat preparation.
